Ford Teams Up with State Farm to Reduce Ownership Costs

Ford Escape Safety | Mishawaka, IN

Your insurance company can be a life-saver if you ever get into an accident, but did you know that it might also help you save some money? Ford has recently partnered with insurance industry titan State Farm to promote driving safely and to help you reduce your vehicle ownership costs.

In 2020, Ford teamed up with State Farm to pilot a program that allowed the insurance juggernaut to access driving statistics using the all-new Vehicle Build Data product. This data allowed State Farm to analyze the ways Ford’s state-of-the-art safety technologies lessen how often people file insurance claims.

Per Tim Meek, Ford Digital Insurance Manager, the automaker is “using data to help our customers get the most out of their Ford, at a lower total cost of ownership.” After just a short pilot program, State Farm was able to offer customers that owned certain Ford vehicle with specific safety features as much as 20 percent off their insurance premiums. Better still, customers with Ford vehicles dating back to 2010 are expected to reap benefits as the program continues.

Jordan Ford has a wide selection of brand-new and pre-owned Ford vehicles that come equipped with safety features that are eligible for discounts under this program, so schedule your test drive today.

U.S. News Says Ford Mustang Mach-E is One of the Most Affordable EVs in 2021

2021 Ford Mach-E | Mishawaka, IN

Compared to five years ago, electric vehicles are much more widely available in the U.S. But EVs can still be costly, which is off-putting to many car buyers. If you are looking for an affordable EV, Ford has you covered. The sporty 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E was recently named to U.S. News’ list of Cheapest EVs in 2021.

To be included on the list, vehicles had to have an MSRP of less than $50,000, which is true for the Mustang Mach-E. For that affordable price, you get standard rear-wheel drive, 266 horsepower, and a super-efficient 230 miles of all-electric range.* All-wheel drive is also available for a higher price, as is an EPA-estimated driving range of 305 miles.* In that configuration, the Mustang Mach-E delivers up to 480 horsepower.

In addition to being an affordable option for drivers looking to make the switch to electric, the Mustang Mach-E was named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, with “Superior” ratings for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian collision avoidance.

The 2021 Mustang Mach-E is a fantastic option for anyone looking for an electric vehicle that looks fierce and offers powerful, athletic handling and a comfortable, safe ride. Introducing the Electric Ford F-150 Lightning

Until recently, electric vehicles were mostly small and unremarkable. But over the last few years, more and more automakers have been releasing electric SUVs, and now electric trucks. Ford is ready to hop on the electric truck bandwagon with its first-ever fully electric-powered truck: the Ford F-150 Lightning.

The upcoming electric F-150 builds upon the strength and power of its combustion-engine sibling. The F-150 has long been a hot seller in the U.S. market thanks to its powerful build and Ford’s expertise at building long-lasting and reliable pickup trucks. When the F-150 Lightning joins the Ford truck lineup, it’ll also add “efficient” to the list of words used to describe the F-150.

The F-150 Lightning will reportedly come with standard 4×4, 563 horsepower, and 775 lb-ft of torque. It’ll also be capable of powering a home or business thanks to the available Ford Intelligent Backup Power feature. The F-150 Lightning will be built on a high-strength steel frame with a maximum towing capacity of around 10,000 pounds. Ford estimates that the F-150 Lightning will offer around 230 miles of range with a standard-range battery and 300 miles with an extended-range battery.

Inside the truck, you’ll find features like BlueCruise hands-free driving technology, Onboard Scales, Phone As A Key technology, and a 15.5-inch portrait touch-screen display. You’ll also be able to use FordPass Power My Trip to make sure you know where the nearest charging stations are on your planned route.

You can reserve a new Ford F-150 Lightning now, and deliveries are set to begin in spring of 2022. Contact Jordan Ford for more details.

Ford F-150, Mustang Mach-E to Get BlueCruise Hands-Free Driving Tech

Ford BlueCruise | Jordan Ford | Mishawaka, IN

Ford’s futuristic new BlueCruise hands-free driving technology is almost here. Later this year, selected 2021 F-150 and Mustang Mach-E models will get this next-generation system via a SYNC® 4 over-the-air software update.

With BlueCruise, you can drive on more than 100,000 miles of divided highway across North America without touching the steering wheel. Ford did extensive testing on these roads to ensure that the system works safely and effectively — even in bad weather and heavy traffic.

When you’re driving on an eligible highway — known as a Hands-Free Blue Zone — a blue light will activate to notify you. To make sure you’re keeping your eyes on the road, a camera monitors the driver’s seat and warns you if your attention wanders.

BlueCruise is available for F-150 and Mustang Mach-E models that have the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 Prep Package. On top of the necessary built-in tech, BlueCruise software costs $600 on eligible F-150 models. It’s included as standard on Mustang Mach-E First Edition, Premium, and California Route 1 trims.

Ford says BlueCruise will also be available on other vehicles in the near future. To learn how you can purchase an F-150 or Mustang Mach-E with this visionary new technology, contact us here at Jordan Ford in Mishawaka, Indiana.

F-Series and Bronco Sport Launch Ford to Some of the Best Q1 Sales in years

2021 Ford Bronco

The all-new Bronco Sport and Ford F-Series are favorites on the road, and Ford’s Q1 2021 sales prove just how much people love them. With retail numbers that exceeded Ford’s 2019 and 2020 sales levels, the automaker’s recent successful first quarter can be partly attributed to the undeniable impact that the F-Series has left on the industry over the last few decades, as well as the breakout success of the brand-new Bronco Sport.

With Ford trucks and SUVs flying off of lots all over Mishawaka, IN, it’s not hard to see why the F-Series and Bronco Sport have gained a lot of attention and love. In the first quarter, Ford sold 203,797 trucks between the F-150, F-250, and other pickups in the F-Series family, marking a 24.5 percent increase at retail. It also shipped 23,356 all-new Bronco Sport SUVs.

Another reason Ford enjoyed such a successful quarter was — and will likely remain to be — its rock-solid and mostly new EV lineup. Ford’s electrified vehicle sales skyrocketed by 74 percent compared to a year ago thanks to new additions like the all-new Mustang Mach-E and the F-150’s new PowerBoost Hybrid engine. In Q1 2021, Ford’s expanded electric portfolio resulted in 25,980 vehicles sold, with 6,614 Mustang Mach-E SUVs and 7,176 F-150 models equipped with PowerBoost Hybrid powertrains.

Overall, in the first three months of 2021, Ford sold 495,924 vehicles, which is a 1.1 percent increase from 2020. If you’re still not sure why these vehicles are creating a fervor beyond belief, experience them in person at Jordan Ford, right here in beautiful Mishawaka, Indiana.

Ford Makes its Telematics Capabilities Available to Everyone

Ford Truck Lineup

A recent move by Ford demonstrates just how much the company cares about all drivers — even ones that prefer other brands. In March, Ford announced it was expanding the Ford Telematics capabilities to vehicles from all automakers. By sharing this all-in-one fleet management technology with the entire industry, Ford is committed to supporting businesses and creating a better driving experience.

Ford Telematics helps maintain uptime by providing opportunities for improvement and promotes good driving habits and improved efficiency by scoring drivers as it tracks their driving behavior. This ultimately helps increase productivity across the fleet by giving managers the information they need to provide coaching.

For non-Ford vehicles, fleet operators simply have to use a plug-in device to enjoy full functionality at no additional cost. The Ford Telematics dashboard will provide information about both non-Ford and Ford commercial vehicles, creating a seamless management tool.

Ford also announced that the new Ford Telematics Essentials, a complimentary version of Ford Telematics, will soon be available. Essentials will expand Ford’s presence into the commercial vehicle market by providing free fleet management tools like insights into vehicle odometers, diagnostics codes, and open recalls. Operators can also use the platform to easily schedule maintenance appointments.

If you’re looking for a way to grow your business and simplify operations, it’s time to check out a commercial vehicle at Jordan Ford in Mishawaka, IN, and learn more about Ford Telematics in the process.

The just-released Mustang Mach-E high-performance SUV is the first part of Ford’s EV plan to fall into place. And later this year, Ford will introduce the E-Transit commercial van.

Pickup buyers here in Mishawaka, Indiana, can already experience a taste of this via the 2021 F-150 and its PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6 engine, which delivers enormous capabilities and solid fuel efficiency, too.

After these vehicles arrive, Ford officials hint that Lincoln luxury EVs and more Transit commercial electric models could be next. To handle all this increased EV production, Ford will be bulking up capabilities at its manufacturing plants around the world.
